Bomberman Live 100% official, local multiplayer

In a daring attempt to reveal a shocking surprise to the world, Hudson Entertainment has announced that it is bringing Bomberman Live to Xbox Live Arcade. While the announcement was rather expected, considering both the game's rating and a video have already been leaked, it's nice to hear it from the horse's mouth. Hudson did reveal a few new bits of information. The game will support 8-player multiplayer via Xbox Live. Also (thank the heavens) the game will support 4-player local multiplayer (which was not supported at all by Bomberman Act: Zero). Finally, characters in Bomberman Live will be fully customizable. That's nice and all, but we'll be sticking with black Bomberman, thank you very much. We always totally have dibs on black Bomberman.

All the other threads are filling up! I shall utilize this space to bitch that it's 12:00 PST and there's NO DAMN BETA up for Crackdown players.
Ugh.

You know, I never played Bomberman - so it'll be something new for me.

Good job Hudson! Don't ever do something like Act Zero again, and we'll forgive you. :)
@rinks, quit your bitching, it's a beta, it's free, it'll be live eventually, and we can all enjoy it then. Until then, be patient, and quit stinking up non-halo related stories with your whining. It's unbecoming. Here, why don't you spend the time visiting wikipedia and finding out exactly what a beta is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_cycle#Beta hint: It's not _really_ a company giving you access to a game early because you're such a dedicated fan and they love you, rather they're testing elements of the final product and they really don't give a crap who you are; but they realize fanboys will test it for them for free. Don't confuse being free help with any kind of entitlement though, it just makes you look like a petulant turd.

Since the launch of the 360, i've been trying out some genres that i haven't played in a while (C&C) and genres that i haven't invested time in playing (sandbox types or turn based strategy).
So would I enjoy such a game like bomberman? What is the goal of the game?

As long as they don't turn customizing into micro-transactions and it's no more then 800 points. I'm buying it as soon as it's up.

Jcarpio, I haven't played any Bomberman since the NES, but if this incarnation is anything like those it should be a lot of fun. You run around on a little grid, placing bombs that reach down the rows while you try to dodge the ones your opponent places and collect powerups that make the bombs bigger and give you more bombs to place.
It's all really fast and fun, kind of like an action/strategy/puzzle game.

Bomberman is more of a party type game. The main idea is that you and 3 (or, apparently, 7) other players are inside this little 'maze', that is usually nothing more than a checkerboard. There are pillars which make rows and columns, and you place bombs at intersections to create long walls of flames.
Don't get hit, or you are dead.

It's going to be pretty funny to see the people who bitched about the crackdown beta version not working finally get in and realize what a beta is.

I recommend BomberKids for graphing calculators. 2 people can play locally on one calculator, and you can link 2 calculators for 4 player games.
